Culcairn
Fishing in the Billabong Creek, the longest creek in the Southern Hemisphere.
Just to the east of Culcairn is the village of Morven, home to one of the oldest licensed Cobb & Co Stations in NSW at the quaint Round Hill Hotel. Part of the stables are still standing besides the hotel.

Walbundrie
Walbundrie was once a thriving gold rush town of several thousand people. Formally referred to as Piney Range, due to the extensive stands of Cyprus Pines in the district, it is now a pleasant rural village.

The old schoolhouse, originally erected in 1879 at a cost of 446 pounds, and with enrolments quickly reaching 60, is a reminder of the Village's prosperity around the late 1800's.
The Old Schoolhouse now stands proudly at the Walbundrie Showgrounds.
The Walbundrie Show, hosted at the Showgrounds, is the largest one day show in the Riverina on the Monday of the October long weekend.

The region's rich German heritage ( see Jindera Pioneer Museum for details ) is a feature of Walla Walla and remains strong today with the Zion Lutheran Church, being the largest Lutheran Church in NSW. Built in 1824, the Church seats almost 600 people.

Standing close by is a faithfully restored replica of one of the German Wagons that made the six week, six hundred mile journey from the Barossa Valley in South Australia in 1869, to take up land the NSW Government was allocating. They brought 56 German Farmers who settled throughout the area.

Some of the actual Wagons are on display at the Jindera Pioneer Museum.
Mad Dog Morgan
This area is notorious Bushranger Daniel "Mad Dog" Morgan's old neighbourhood. Mad Dog Morgan is believed to have murdered seven men between 1860 and 1865, as well as committing many robberies.
Mad Dog was a man of nearly six feet tall, with a long bushy black beard. He was an excellent bushman, which helped him evade police by hiding out for months in the countryside.

A must see is his former hideout offering a 360 degree panorama overlooking Walla Walla. This spectacular white granite formation is situated just 6 km north of Walla Walla and is an idyllic picnic location for locals and visitors alike.

Numerous memorials to the bushranger's exploits remain today, including the grave of station hand John McLean, 3 km east of Culcairn on the way to Morven, the memorial to Sergeant Smyth shot 2 km west of Henty in 1864, and the Centenary Mural at Culcairn.
Mad Dog Morgan's bushranging career came to an end when members of a posse formed to track him down, and shot him near Wangaratta in Victoria. Mad Dog Morgans grave is in the Wangaratta Cemetery.
