Set up Dial-Up Networking
- Double click on My Computer
- Double click on Dial-up Networking
(If you don't see Dial-up Networking, then you must go to "Control Panel" and
Click "Add/Remove Programs" and install Dial-up Networking - you will need your Windows disks
or CD.)
- Double click on "Make New Connection".
Name the Connection "Albury Local Internet".
- Select your modem (if you have more than one modem configured)
- Click on Next
- Enter the Area Code (02 or 03) and Phone Number exactly as per your "User
Account Configuration" sheet.
- Click Next
- Click on Finish
Now we have to tell the connection we just created how to connect to Albury Local Internet.
Starting PPP
Double click My Computer, then Dial-up Networking. Double click on "Albury Local
Internet". A window will come up asking for your username and password. Enter them EXACTLY as
per your "User Account Configuration" sheet. You may choose to click "Save Password".
Click on Dial or Connect. After the modem dials the number and connects, it'll say verifying
your username and password. Then it may say "Logging on to network", after which the screen should
close, and you will be connected.
