Subject: [Oz-ISP] Open Letter to Polies
Dear Politician,
I am writing to invite you to an early election so that as an ISP bearing the brunt of the governments ignorance I can campaign against the Liberal Party with all my might.
We accept the governments legislation as declaration of hostilities against the industry and a clear indication of the governments intentions to bolster the position of Telstra the governments own ISP at the expense of the rest of the market and as an indiction of the governments position in relation to the nascent information economy.
I am putting you on notice that you will sooner or later venture back to the electorate and every ISP in the country, many of which service the swinging voter will be campaigning vigorously against the Liberals.
ISPs are not pornographers nor criminals yet you choose to label us as such.
We are no different to couriers, and are not responsible for the content we carry and it is a disgrace, an invasion of privacy, an infrigement of freedoms and outside our scope of duty to force us to block adults from accessing adult material.
We invite you to an early election so that we can express our opposition directly in a tangible and straightforward way which every politician can understand. We have at our disposal the most powerful communication tool know to man and we intend to use it to its full extent against the Liberal Party.
I suggest the Liberal Party enjoy its remaining days in office, because they are numbered.
