The Beechworth Court House sits stately in the main street of Beechworth just north of the Post Office. Inside the Court House there are thousands of historical memories just waiting for the guide to explain to you.
The Bottle / Brewery Museum
The Bottle Museum is located in the historic Billsons Brewery. In the cellars you can see the old office equipment, and the old brewing equipment. There are also hundreds of old bottle, like these marble corked bottles on the left, and the submarine bottles on the right. Above is an old carbinating bottle filler.
The Carriage Museum This museum is now located at the Bottle Museum. Above is the stately Hearse, which was built in Beechworth about 100 years ago. This was drawn by a pair of black horses, whose harnesses would have been supplemented by the addition of black ostrich feather plumes for adults, and white for children.
Above left is a Piano Box Buggy. This was used entirely within this region, and is owned by Andrew Gilmore of Chiltern. On the right is an Abbott Buggy, which was built in Albury in 1912. It was owned by Mr & Mrs G Larkin of Upper Gundowering. There are dozens of horse drawn buggies in this Carriage Museum.
