How to get from Bairnsdale to the Albury and District and North East Victorian Region.
BUS Unfortunately there is no Bus service between Bairnsdale and Albury at this time.
CAR The Great Alpine Road The Great Alpine Road is now sealed between Bairnsdale and Wangaratta. It is an All Seasons road, however motorists should take care as the road can be effected by fog, ice and snow in any season. Take care to observe the road conditions signs, both the speed signs and the chain fitting signs. Chains must be carried in the snow season between the Queen's Birthday Weekend in June, and the first weekend in October. Chains may be hired from many outlets. PLANE
With the collapse of Ansett the plane service no longer flies to Albury. To use the planes, a traveller will need to go to the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and catch a plane to Albury or Wagga Wagga. To see the plane timetables, click on the Airline Schedule Link below.
TRAIN Unfortunately there is no direct train service from Bairnsdale to Albury. To use the train you will need to catch your local train to Spencer Street Station in Melbourne, and board a train bound for Albury. There are usually six trains per day to Albury.
