When Hume and Hovell came to Yea in December 1824, they named it Muddy Creek. Well as you know mud sticks.
So today there is a cafe called the Muddy Creek Coffee Lounge, and it has this little hombre, Shorty, standing on the side of the road asking you to stop and come in.
He doesn't say much, as a matter of fact I don't think he speaks English, but he does watch over your car whilst you drop in for a drink.
