Australian Aboriginal Paintings
In the pages below you will find a selection of Australian Aboriginal Paintings by renowned Australian Aboriginal Artist Eddy Harris.
"In the Dreamtime the Rainbow Serpent ( snake ) is believed to have been the Creator of the land, water, the plants etc. This painting depicts two ancestors of the Rainbow Serpent hunting for food. In the centre of the painting a water hole is shown, and around it four smaller ones can be seen ( the brown circles with white edging and centres ). The green and brown circles represent the bushes and wildflowers, and the orange, brown and black represent coloured rocks and earth. The snakes camouflage themselves well within the colours around them to trap small animals when they come to drink at the water holes." Eddy Harris
Above a close up of the painting shows the intricate detail of the traditional aboriginal art.
